OCULUM Research and Analytics, in partnership with RMN Networks, one of the country’s biggest radio networks, conducted a comprehensive political survey from December 16-22, 2024, encompassing 1,200 adult respondents and declared voters nationwide.

It showed that at least 70.8% of voters would vote for party-list lawmaker Erwin Tulfo for senator, followed by former Senate president Vicente “Tito” Sotto III (52.3%) and media personality Bienvenido “Ben” Tulfo (50.1%), who were tied for second and third place.

Incumbent senator Bong Revilla placed third to fifth in the survey with 49.2%, followed by Senator Pia Cayetano with 46.9%, which placed her fourth to seventh place.

Former senator Manny Pacquiao placed fourth to eighth in the survey with 46.3%, followed by Senator Bong Go with 44.4%, placing him fifth to eighth. Senator Bato Dela Rosa placed sixth to eighth in the survey with 43.8%, followed by Makati City Mayor Abby Binay with 40.3%, placing her ninth to eleventh place.

Rep. Camille Villar placed ninth to twelfth in the survey with 37.5%, followed by TV host Willy Revillame with 36.2%, putting him tenth to twelfth place. Senator Imee Marcos placed twelfth to fourteenth in the survey with 33.3%.

Oculum research hard Dr. Racidon Bernarte, also managing director of the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCoRE), said: “The survey underscores the complexity of senatorial preferences, highlighting the impact of media exposure, political history, and policy alignment. The study provides valuable insights into the diverse political landscape, shedding light on the dynamic nature of political preferences in the Philippines.”

The survey employed a face-to-face methodology for fieldwork in the key areas of NCR, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It had a margin of error of +/- 3% at a 95% confidence level.

The survey, the first partnership between RMN and Oculum, included questions covering electoral preferences, both for the upcoming senatorial candidates and presidential options, support on national issues, and levels of overall satisfaction and public trust.

It was also conducted in partnership with APCoRE, a professional organization of academics and researchers, Areopagus Communications Inc., and PressOne.PH.
