About half of adult Filipinos continue to be satisfied with the performance of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as he enters his third year in office, results of the second quarter poll of Oculum Research and Analytics showed.

Marcos Jr. obtained a 50% satisfaction rating in the Q2 2024 survey, virtually unchanged from the first quarter. Twenty-two percent were unsatisfied or very unsatisfied, up from 18% in Q1.

In contrast, Vice President Sara Duterte saw an 11-point drop in her satisfaction rating, to 64%, in the Q2 survey conducted after her resignation as secretary of education on June 18, 2024. More respondents were unsatisfied or very unsatisfied with her performance, at 13%, up from 5% in Q1.

Senate President Francis Escudero got 48%, mirroring the satisfaction rating obtained by his predecessor, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, in the first quarter of 2024. House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez obtained a 34% satisfaction rating while Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo got 25%.

The non-commissioned 2024 second-quarter national survey was conducted from June 25 to 30, 2024 by Oculum Research and Analytics in partnership with APCoRE, a professional organization of academics and researchers, Areopagus Communications Inc., and PressOne.PH.

A total of 1,200 respondents, aged 18 years old and above, were interviewed face-to-face. The respondents were distributed as follows: 300 from the National Capital Region, 300 from the rest of Luzon, 300 from the Visayas and 300 Mindanao. It had a margin of error of ± 3 percentage points and a confidence level of 95%.
